The
abundance and diversity of the flora and
fauna found in the Coastal Rainforest of
British Columbia is considered to be one of
the the world's great ecological treasures.
Lush forests of ancient cedar and Sitka
Spruce tower over a floor blanketed with
club moss, maidenhair fern, salal and salmon
berry.
Pitt River Lodge lies in the heart of this
wilderness where wildlife abounds and awe
and wonder await you. Located between three
wilderness parks with this beautiful glacier
river at its center, you will never know
what to expect as birds, mammals, elk all
use this corridor as they go about their
lives, offering themselves to visitors for
occasional view.
August
is the pinnacle of bear viewing- black bears
greedily feed on
migrating salmon so plentiful that the
rivers and streams appear black. Our guides
know just where to take you for that
incomparable glimpse of the temperate
rainforstıs most magnificent carnivore.
Throughout our season you may catch the
silhouette or silent stare of the elusive
Roosevelt Elk, as they forage in the lush
valley bottom that we call home.
